maría garcía is Andina from Quito, Ecuador, and has lived in NYC for the past 18 years. María is a PhD candidate at Rutgers University Geography Department, co-founded the former Caracol Language Cooperative and currently works part time with the Cooperative Economics Alliance of NYC as the Membership and Programs Coordinator. She has been involved in the SE Movement in NYC as an educator, language & cooperative worker and organizer since 2012. She recently joined the Board of the Lower East Side Peoples Federal Credit Union and works with Centro Corona in Queens, New York.
